Religious Education at Holy Family is for children from grades 1-5. I
How do I register my child for Religious Education?
Registration begins in May and continues until the end of September, as long as space is available.
My child is in 1st grade and has not had previous Religious Education / has only participated in preschool/toddler programs – what do I do?

My child is in 2nd grade and has no previous Religious Education / has only participated in preschool/toddler programs – what do I do?
Go to our Online registration link and sign up. Sacramental Preparation for the sacraments of Reconciliation (Confession) and First Eucharist (Communion) is a two year process. Your child will be enrolled into Year 1 faith formation (a combination of 1st and 2nd graders preparing for sacraments) and will make their sacraments two years thereafter (example: your child enrolls is 1st year formation in one year, she/he will make her/his sacraments in the spring of of the next year. You will also need to bring a copy of your child’s baptism certificate.
My child is in 2nd grade and we have done 1 year of previous Religious Education at another parish – what do I do?
Go to our Online registration link and sign up be sure to upload an affidavit from your previous parish’s RE Office stating that your child has received previous religious education.
You will also need to upload our child’s baptism certificate.
Please note: The Archdiocese of Los Angeles mandates that the years of sacramental preparation be done consecutively/in-sequence.
My child is in 3rd-5th grade and has not received her/his sacraments of Reconciliation (Confession) and 1st Eucharist (Communion) – what do I do?
When filling out your registration packet please check the box “Basic Faith Course”.
We are coming from another parish/We have just moved. My child has already received the sacraments of Reconciliation (Confession) and First Eucharist (Communion) – what do we do?
Because faith formation is life long you are invited to come to the RE Office and enroll your child for an RE class corresponding to her/his grade level in school. For example, if he is in 5th grade you would enroll him in 5th year RE formation. You would also need to upload copies of your child’s sacramental records (dates/certificates for Baptism and First Eucharist) for our records.
My child has not been baptized yet -what do we do?

My child has special needs/different abilities – what accommodations do you provide?
At Holy Family RE we pride ourselves on being a welcoming, friendly place for all children and their families. We invite you to come to the RE Office to speak with a staff member about your child’s particular needs and we can discuss the options available to you.
What financial assistance do you provide?
In keeping with our community’s motto “All Are Welcome” no child will be denied Religious Education due to the family’s inability to pay. We offer payment plans and scholarships. Please speak to a member of the RE staff to make confidential arrangements for your family.
